NH DOL Website - A Valuable Resource!
On the New Hampshire Department of Labor (DOL) website, you can now find decisions from the DOL's hearings on wage claims and whistleblowers' claims at DOL decisions. Currently, only wage claim decisions from the current year and whistleblower decisions from the prior 3 years are posted. The DOL's decisions are subject to appeal, so they many not be the final binding decision in any case, but they provide guidance on how the DOL applies the law to issues such as unpaid wages, commissions, vacation pay, employment (vs. independent contractor) status, and whisteblower protection. The decisions are conveniently indexed by date, issues in dispute, and parties' names. Only decisions in which both parties were present at the hearings are posted.
