Wyoming 2012 Invite

Can't Wait to See You in Cheyenne!

AdvancED Wyoming Fall Conference 2012
is AdvancED Wyoming's 29th fall school improvement conference. This year we are trilled to have Dr. Willard Daggett kick off this years events on Monday, September 24, 2012 with a keynote on the Common Core Standards. Dr. Daggett is the founder of the International Center for Leadership in Education. He is recognized worldwide with a proven ability to move education systems towards more rigorous and relevant skills and knowledge for all students. Dr. Daggett and his Center also are leading the nation in understanding and implementing the Common Core State Standards.  Following Dr. Daggett’s keynote presentation, he will present a breakout session on Teacher Evaluation. Both the Common Core State Standards and Teacher Evaluation are at the forefront of Wyoming educators’ concerns.

On Tuesday, September 25, 2012, we will be treated to the insights of Dr. Scott Marion.  Dr. Marion advises the Wyoming Legislature’s Select Committee on Statewide Accountability. In this capacity, Dr. Marion will be able to discuss where the state is and where it is going in terms of accountability. Dr. Marion will then facilitate a panel discussion of the Wyoming Accountability Task Force. Accountability is an important topic for Wyoming educators, and we all need to stay informed as to the direction we are headed in accountability.

In additional to Dr. Daggett and Dr. Marion, the AdvancED Wyoming Fall Conference 2012 is packed with quality breakout sessions, including some from our partners Technology and Innovation in Education (TIE), Quantum Learning, and important sessions on accreditation.

ASSIST is Re-shaping School Improvement

AdvancED Adaptive System of School Improvement Support Tools (ASSIST) is the future of school improvement. Already launched in Wyoming, ASSIST allows schools and systems to gain a better understanding of school improvement effects. It joins a world-class array of knowledge resources, practical implementation tools with interactive screens to create a fully integrated web-based system. ASSIST allows schools and districts to gain a better understanding of past successes and opportunities and confidently build and implement a solid, research-based plan for the future.

ASSIST is available to schools and school systems in the AdvancED network at no additional fee. The use of ASSIST is one of the many benefits of being accredited through AdvancED. ASSIST merges the entire accreditation and school improvement process end to end.

Fall School Improvement Conference attendees will learn how to use ASSIST and the new features being launched in September 2012. You also may access training webinars and Power Point presentations at the AdvancED Wyoming web page. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to re-shape school improvement.
