Milken Institute at the National Conventions |
The Milken Institute convened a series of policy forums in partnership with the Bipartisan Policy Center at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland and the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. The forums provided an opportunity to hear political and business leaders as well as Institute experts share their policy ideas and perspectives on medical innovation, economic growth, tax policy and global competitiveness.

The latest issue of our flagship publication is now available. This edition features "Social Mobility, a Promise That Could Still Be Kept," by Richard Reeves and Isabel Sawhill. Using the Social Genome Model and its rich database pioneered at Brookings, they find that intervening early and often in a child’s life has a surprisingly big impact. The gap of almost 20 percentage points in the chances of low-income and high-income children reaching the middle class by age 40 shrinks to 6 percentage points.
