UK India Business Council, CEO, Richard Heald will be speaking at a Roundtable Seminar on India — Analysing 2014 and Expectations from 2015
Thursday 12 February 2015
With Narendra Modi’s government at the helm for almost eight months now, India saw a series of developments which affect companies and funds having investments in India, and those looking at new investments.
Some notable developments from last year include liberalization of the foreign direct investment regime, a proposal to amend the recently introduced Indian companies law to meet industry demands, reforms introduced by the Securities and Exchange Board of India to simplify investments in India and to increase the robustness of Indian securities market, introduction of a framework to kick-off real estate investment trusts, introduction of the long-awaited insurance reforms, cancellation of earlier coal block allocations, emergence of a new but strong anti-trust regulator and assurances of a predictable tax regime.
In 2015, will the Indian Government live up to its promise to improve the ease of doing business in India and its investment climate or will it be a case of over-promise and under-performance? To discuss the developments from last year and the key issues which need to be considered in 2015, UK India Business Council and Debevoise invite you to join us on Thursday 12 February to discuss:
• The key developments of 2014;
• Proposals in the pipeline; and
• Top expectations of investors for 2015.
