Question of the Month September 2014 - Results
BSCC members were invited to consider whether the outcome of the Scottish referendum would affect the UK’s membership of the EU. Of those replying, 40% felt that the Scottish result would make a UK exit from the EU more likely, 16% thought it would be less likely and 44% that it would make no difference. The main conclusion to draw from these figures is that the Scottish referendum result is not expected to halt the drift towards a UK exit from the EU, which is something of an irony because the slogan of the victorious ‘No’ campaign was “better together”.

Business Lunch in London: Towards Global Tax Transparency - the OECD's Common Reporting Standard - London, 21.10.2014
Co-operation between tax administrations is critical in the fight against tax evasion and protecting the integrity of tax systems. A key aspect of that co-operation is exchange of information. It is with great pleasure that the BSCC will host Sarah Wulff-Cochrane, Director of Financial Policy & Operations at the British Bankers’ Association, on Tuesday 21st October 2014.
