Memorial Weekend Update 4-9-2024

Good day Pipers and Drummer. Memorial Weekend is fast approaching and we wanted to send out a brief update. If you or your band members have not registered yet, you have until 4/19 to do so. Here is the link: https://web.cvent.com/.../7861c75b-7dda-41e3.../register... We continue to be time compressed more than ever this year as we have a lot of fallen to honor and a large amount of families coming. More information will be sent out once registration closes but here are the band leaderships most important items. We honor the fallen with our ability to play the music properly and a well maintained instrument. Everyone should be proficient with the tune sets and settings while continuing to work on them. This event is not for anyone that is not up on their ability to play the designated tunes/sets, has corked drones or cannot play their instrument as it was designed, cannot march with a group and lastly cannot take direction from a supervisor. The band officers have the final say and we
Memorial Weekend Update    I hope everyone is well as Memorial Weekend is just over a week away. Our numbers are a little lower with the switch to the spring this year with 72 pipers (down from 78) and 43 drummers (down from 66) attending. We will continue to honor our fallen and comfort their families with heartfelt music as we always do. Some items of note for this year: Bring rain gear. There is no alternate location this year and the event will be held on campus rain or shine with the potential for delays due to any storms. Check-in is at Liberty Mountain Resort and NOT  Mount Saint Mary's. More specific direction should be coming from the NFFF but you need to note the change and plan accordingly. We hope to have parking at the Basilica property just behind the rear fence life the past few years. If weather prevents this, personnel need to be prepared to go to Liberty Mountain Resort and get a shuttle. THIS IS A 20-30 MINUTE TRIP DUE TO THE DISTANCE, PLAN ACCORDINGLY! Reminder
