April showers bring May flowers… | Much like spring, MPI New England is amidst some transitions and we’re tending to and nourishing our foundational work, excited to see the future blooming. | First, we’d like to thank Julee Cooke and Paragon Events for their service to MPI New England for 6 years as Chapter Administrator and Association Management Company, respectively. We are taking the chapter in a new direction and are now partnering with DPS AMC. Please continue to use admin@mpine.org as you have in the past, but you will see some new names in response to any inquiries. |

Spring is also the time when our wonderful, hardworking 2021-2022 Board of Directors begins training and transitioning to the new slate of volunteers for the 2022-2023 term, who will be inducted at our Annual Awards event on June 16 (save the date!). As you receive this email, the incoming Board of Directors is building a business plan, budget, and calendar for the upcoming year at the Annual Retreat. We are grateful to Lake Morey Resort in Fairlee, VT for being our gracious hosts and providing a beautiful backdrop as we come together for the first time as a group to plant the seeds for a flourishing year, July 2022 through June 2023, and beyond. | Please join us in building this metaphorical garden. There are so many ways to plant your seed, both in support of MPI and also showcasing yourself, your venue or product, or your organization. Below is by no means an exhaustive list, but we’d love to hear from you if you’re interested in partnering with us on any of the following: |
| Ok maybe not the last one but at least we’re full circle on the metaphor! | Happy Spring everyone! | Kate Page, CMP MPINE President

MISSED THE MEETING Global Meetings Industry Day, Apr 7th - Fenway |

|
GMID - Apr 7, 2022 | MPI New England Chapter and PCMA New England joined forces for a very successful Global Meeting Industry Day on April 7, 2022. We were honored to be the first group to use the beautiful new space at Fenway Park: The 521 Overlook. | Over 150 Meeting Industry Partners came together to reconnect with friends, colleagues, and to be entertained by the masterful, down to earth storyteller: Johnny Earle, aka Johnny Cupcakes. Johnny weaved his journey of successful branding through relatable, motivating tales that kept the crowd laughing, engaged, and wanting to know more. His secret ingredients: The H2H Human to Human connection, creative packaging, surprising customers, every changing product, and selling experiences. If you have been to his store on Newbury Street or one of his pop-up shops, you will quickly learn he does not sell cupcakes but T-shirts. Johnny surprised and delighted the audience with some great ideas, a gift under the chairs, and a complimentary T-shirt with a business card in return. | After the presentation ended, networking began with fantastic beverage, featuring Espresso Martini’s on tap and outstanding food compliments of The 521 Overlook at Fenway Park. | |

My career began because of a networking event.... | MANY years ago - when I was 22, my second interview was at a tri-county chamber event. Rob Levine gave me a challenge - get more business cards then he did and I would have the job... | My first time in a suit in public, first step out in the professional world, with little to no understanding of real estate law at all, I entered into the wonderful world of networking and connected enough to earn my spot as his Account Executive. | Fast forward to 2018, at my first MPI New England Chapter event, I met Heather Munnell from VDA Experiential Design Agency. We hit it off as industry peers, connected as friends, and now I am lucky enough to work by her side. Thank you to MPI!
