Excellence in Education Banquet - March 3, 2014
Plan to attend this year’s Excellence in Education Awards Banquet on March 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the Parkway Plaza.  AdvancED Wyoming will be honoring the following:

AdvancED Wyoming enjoys recognizing those whose work goes above and beyond on behalf of Wyoming’s school systems, schools and students. Wyoming Department of Education Director, Rich Crandall, will speak at the banquet and share some of his experiences with our Wyoming educators. Our Spring Conference has Something for Everyone!

This year's AdvancED Wyoming Spring Conference, March 3-4 in Casper at the Parkway Plaza, will be another informative and relevant conference for Wyoming educators. If you want to know how to engage the students attending our schools today, using the tools that they use daily, and leveraging the vast amount of resources that so many have at their fingertips, then this is the conference for you!

Keynote speaker Vicki Davis kicks off the conference on Monday, March 3 with her insight into how to integrate technology into lessons that enhances student learning. Vicki will also conduct two break-out sessions that will discuss technology and differentiation and the concept of a "Flattened Classroom."

Tuesday’s plenary session offers Debbie Sliver, veteran educator, storyteller and humorist. This session is sure to inspire and warm hearts. Debbie will also present two break-out sessions. GEAR UP Wyoming is sponsoring Debbie’s appearance and has purchases all conference attendees one of Debbie’s best-selling book--Drumming to the Beat of Different Marchers. Give GEAR UP Wyoming a big "Thank You!" when you see them at the conference.

We have many great presentations scheduled for you including important updates from the Wyoming Department of Education, updates from AdvancED and a few words from Wyoming Department of Education Director, Rich Crandall.

AdvancED Standards and Accreditation Protocol

Wyoming educators will again be provided an opportunity to familiarize themselves with AdvancED's Standards for Quality School Systems and Accreditation Protocol. If you have questions about what AdvancED is all about and how it can benefit your school or school system, this conference is the place to learn! Annette Bohling, Brad Jacobson, Geri Fitzgerald and the certified Wyoming Lead Evaluators will be on hand to inform and guide.  Attend the AdvancED sessions, seek us out.  The AdvancED Wyoming team stands at the ready to help all schools and school systems in the state improve. Those who attend the AdvancED sessions will walk away with a better understanding of the power and potential of AdvancED.

All school systems in the southwest corner of Wyoming are specifically encouraged to attend the AdvancED sessions to gain accreditation-specific information. These school systems are scheduled for External Review Team visits next school year.  Information that is necessary to have prior to the External Review Team visit will be shared in the AdvancED sessions. AdvancED Wyoming and TIE Network

AdvancED Wyoming continues its partnership with TIE (Technology and Innovation in Education) for our Spring Conference 2013. TIE is an educational “think tank" that provides professional development to assist and empower educational communities to respond productively and responsibly in a networked global society. TIE professionals help educators meet learners where they are and take them to where they want to be.

TIE professionals have both wide and deep content knowledge in the educational topics relevant to schools. They utilize effective techniques and research-based approaches to assist educators in growing their instructional practice and leadership capacities. In addition to assisting schools with technology-related professional development, TIE professionals are prepared to assist schools with a wide variety of pedagogical and content-related services.
