2018 School Improvement Reports

The 2018 School and District Reporting Tasks in ASSIST™ have been assigned. Lead administrators and head of institutions received the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) Reporting Memo outlining the reporting requirements for schools and systems. School and system level entities are required to submit the following online reports (during the designated timeframes) which are accessible through the AdvancED ASSIST website:

School Reports

  • School Improvement Plan (SIP) due September 1, 2018

Please note that school reports are assigned based on school status. For Title I planning purposes, systems may choose to have School Improvement Plans submitted as early as April 1, 2018. Schools moving from Title I Targeted to Title I Schoolwide must submit by June 1, 2018

Please note that the Title I diagnostics will not be assigned tasks in ASSIST. Entities will need to know their Title I designation (Schoolwide or Targeted) and complete the appropriate Title I diagnostic listed under the Additional section in ASSIST. If you’re not sure of the Title I designation, please contact your District Title I Office or the MDE Office of Field Services.

  • Program Evaluation Tool (PET) due June 30, 2018

System Reports

  • District Improvement Plan (DIP) due June 30, 2018.
  • Single Building District Improvement Plan (SBDIP) due June 30, 2018
  • Program Evaluation Tool (PET) due June 30, 2018.

Schools will no longer be required to complete and submit the School Systems Review (SSR) diagnostic. Systems will not be required to complete and submit the District Requirement Report/District Systems Review (DSR) diagnostic. The SSR and DSR will be available in ASSIST for schools and systems to use, but they will not be assigned tasks in ASSIST.

AdvancED accredited entities will no longer be required to complete the Self Assessment or the Interim Self Assessment reports. AdvancED accredited entities will be using the eProve™ platform to submit their documentation associated with the Engagement Review process (once every five years) when directed by the AdvancED Michigan Operations Office.

The MDE School Improvement Support Unit provides technical assistance and support for ASSIST users. For detailed instructions on submitting reports, please see the Resources section of the AdvancED/MDE website. Note that there are tabs for Schools, Districts and Quick Guides along with additional information. Please contact our office if you need further assistance.
