Mark Your Calendar Now - Fall 2016 MDE School Improvement Conference

MDE is excited to announce that ASCD author Eric Jensen is the featured speaker at this fall’s MDE School Improvement Conference. Mr. Jensen’s topic will be Teaching with Poverty in Mind

Eric Jensen is a former teacher who grew up in San Diego, California. With a Ph.D. in Human Development, he synthesizes brain research and develops practical applications for K-12 educators.

Dr. Jensen co-founded an academic enrichment program, now held in16 countries with over 65,000 graduates to help answer two questions. First, “Is it possible to turn struggling students around in just days or weeks?” And, second, “If it is possible, what insights and strategies can help us do that in schools?”

Mark your calendar for November 21 – 22, 2016 and watch the MIEM website for future information.

Michigan Surveys of Enacted Curriculum (SEC) Conference: It's all about Culture, Collaboration, and Mindset

Explore meaningful data by using the SEC with assessment data and student data to assist with collaborative school culture and reframe classroom instruction to inspire learning like never before.

The SEC is a curriculum indicator tool that allows teachers to have a voice in describing what they teach and the instructional practices they use to teach students.
