eProve™: Next Generation School Improvement Productivity Tool

AdvancED Adaptive System of School Improvement Support Tools (ASSIST™) will be replaced with eProve™ in the 2017-18 school year. The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) currently is working with AdvancED on a transition plan that includes schools, districts and Intermediate School Districts. At this time there is no need for immediate action by Michigan school systems and schools, but we did want to make you aware of this exciting information. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available. MDE and AdvancED will continue to collaborate with Michigan school and system end users. Please review what’s coming at the eProve website.

New Enhancements Available on ASSIST

With the November 14 ASSIST update, the following enhancements have been added:

  1. Goal Tiers and Phases: Users now can add a Tier (Tier 1, 2 or 3) and Phase (Getting Ready, Implement, Monitor, Evaluate) to strategies and activities. See the Quick Guide for Tiers and Phases for instructions on taking advantage of this enhancement.
  2. Strategy Categories: Users now must select a category for all newly created or edited strategies. See the Guide for Selecting Strategy Categories for instructions.

In addition to the above guides, a Technology Activity Report Guide also is available. The Technology Activity Report Guide will assist Curriculum Directors, Technology Directors and School Improvement Teams with technology planning.

eProve Surveys Coming in January

New and improved surveys in eProve will be available in January 2016! The new survey platform can create and administer customized surveys by local users. It also will contain AdvancED Certified Content and the opportunity to develop school and district content surveys.

The 2015-2016 reporting due dates are available on the MDE School Improvement website. Remember, you can begin working on your diagnostics and goals at any time; you don’t need to wait for the Portfolio assignment.
