Kentucky School Systems Recognized
This spring, AdvancED Kentucky was proud to recognize the several school systems as AdvancED accredited school systems. Collaboratively, the superintendent, board members, system and school leaders, teachers, students and community leaders, committed to an accreditation protocol and continuous improvement process based on international standards with a goal of increasing success for all students. The school systems are:
  • Boyd County Schools
  • Butler County Schools
  • Carter County Schools
  • Clark County Schools
  • Grayson County Schools
  • Jefferson County Schools
  • Jessamine County Schools
  • Madison County Schools
  • Murray Independent School District
  • Paducah Independent School District
  • Paris Independent School District
Superintendent of Jefferson County Public Schools, Donna Hargens, says the accreditation gives JCPS a nationally-recognized mark of quality. "It demonstrates to our community our commitment to excellence, our openness to external review and feedback, and our desire to be the best we can be on behalf of the students we serve," she explained.

Jefferson County leaders went on to say that system accreditation provides an effective means by which to systemize and maximize district improvement efforts, and it recognizes that there is a lot more involved in increasing student achievement and improving instruction.
100 Years of Accreditation
AdvancED Kentucky is very proud that four high schools in our state are being recognized this year for maintaining their accreditation since 1914. A school, school system and community commitment to upholding national quality standards that is sustained for 100 years is a truly remarkable accomplishment. These schools are:
  • Paul G. Blazer High School (Ashland Independent School District)
  • Highlands High School (Ft. Thomas Independent School District)
