Welcome to a new chapter year! As I'm writing this message to you, I'm preparing to facilitate my first board meeting since becoming President. It's going to be an exciting year and I'm honored to be leading such a great chapter.

Flossie Russ has been an active member of the Twin Cities IIA for many years and recently retired from Land O' Lakes internal audit group. The Twin Cities Chapter is the 8th largest IIA chapter in the country with 1,400 members. The Chapter is known for its strong volunteer leaders and valuable services to members including cost-effective training programs, Insight Series sessions, outreach to college students, independent quality assessment services and networking opportunities.

Next Generation Committee

The Next Generation Committee (NGC) was formed by the Twin Cities IIA Chapter to better serve junior-level employees and emerging leaders in the internal audit profession. This is accomplished through coordination and sponsorship of events specifically focused on the wants and needs of the aforementioned internal audit professionals. The Internal Audit Foundation: Providing Service to the Internal Auditing Profession

One area of the IIA that some members may not be aware of is the Internal Audit Foundation (IAF). The IAF is the research arm of the IIA. Insight Series Registration

Has your company registered for the 2017-2018 Insight Series yet? The Twin Cities Chapter offers approximately 15 presentations under the subscription program covering relevant topics for internal auditing professionals, including special sessions just for CAE's and Deputy CAE's. Besides bringing you information on important topics, participants earn CPE credits and have ample time for networking with their peers from other Twin Cities organizations. The annual subscription fee entitles each Chief Audit Executive to attend three CAE roundtables, Audit Directors/Managers to attend focused sessions, and other audit staff to attend 10 general Insight Series sessions. Chapter Achievement Program Update

The TCIIA currently holds Sapphire status in the IIA's Chapter Achievement Program (CAP). Below is an update on the CAP points earned by the Chapter for the current 2017-2018 fiscal year, as of 7/31/2017.

2016-CHAP-CAP-Awards-Saph

A chapter must earn the minimum CAP points in each category listed above to qualify for an achievement level.
Then, 685 points = Bronze, 1,060 points = Silver, 1,560 = Gold
Chapters receiving Gold 10 of 11 consecutive years are Platinum. If a chapter earns Platinum for 10 consecutive years, they are Ruby. Chapters earning Ruby for 5 consecutive years are Sapphire.

How can you help our chapter earn CAP points?
1. Attend TCIIA events and programs.
2. Earn an IIA certification.
3. Recruit new members.
4. Tell us about your speaking engagements.
5. Submit internal audit-related articles for publication to "Internal Auditor" magazine.
6. Provide an internal audit internship at your company for a student.

IIA Mission

The mission of The Institute of Internal Auditors is to provide dynamic leadership for the global profession of internal auditing.  Activities in support of this mission will include, but will not be limited to:
