Three Montana Systems Apply for Accreditation

For the first time in Montana, School System Accreditation is an option for school systems looking to explore the process as a way to achieve operational effectiveness and student achievement.  If a school system chooses to use this model, all schools in the system would be using the same Accreditation Standards and Protocol. Troy Public Schools, Chinook Public Schools and Darby Public Schools all have applied for this new accreditation model.  A readiness review will be conducted this fall by AdvancED Montana State Director Daniel Sybrant. If the school is granted candidate status as a result of the review, the school will have two years to prepare for an External Review.  As a part of the review, an External Review team will examine the operation of the entire school system rather than one single school.  Dr. Sybrant commends these school systems for taking this step towards system wide improvement. For any school system interested in pursuing this accreditation model, send an e-mail to Dr. Daniel Sybrant at dsybrant@advanc-ed.org.
