Are You Anticipating Your External Review?
As we welcome spring, some Arkansas schools and school systems are preparing for their External Review. We’re also eagerly anticipating your External Review and are excited to see your continuous improvement efforts first-hand. We look forward to seeing the everyday happenings of your school and the learning environment that you have created for your students. We know your commitment to the accreditation and continuous improvement processes will yield results that you can be proud of throughout the school year and beyond.
In fact, we have found that when schools and school systems use their External Review as a school improvement tool, it helps them pinpoint specific areas for improvement and celebrate areas of achievement. The benefits of your External Review don’t end with the review. You can continue to use the AdvancED Standards, Protocol and ASSIST™ to maximize your school improvement efforts all year around.
We understand the importance of taking what you have learned from the previous year and from your External Review and using it to build upon a continuous improvement journey. The AdvancED Standards, Protocol and ASSIST are the perfect trio of tools and resources to help guide you on that journey. All Accreditation Resources and Tools now are in one, convenient location. These resources only are available to institutions involved in AdvancED Accreditation. Many of the tools and resources have been updated and new ones have been added. Because these resources have been placed in a repository created only for schools and school systems involved in the accreditation process, your principal, head of school or superintendent will have details on locating these resources and tools.

Preparing for an External Review!

AdvancED Arkansas has scheduled a “Preparing for a School/School System External Review” professional development training March, 17, 2014, at the DoubleTree Hotel in Little Rock. The Director for AdvancED Michigan, Kathy Sergeant, will be conducting the training. AdvancED Arkansas has obtained Arkansas Department of Education approval for professional development credit to be given to our attendees at our Preparing for the External Review Training in March. AdvancED was so excited when the first component of ASSIST™ (AdvancED Adaptive System of School Improvement Support Tools) was launched nearly two years ago. The excitement is still there as our accredited institutions are reaping the benefits of using ASSIST.
