Dr. Emma Bass Celebrates Retirement with Colleagues
Dr. Emma Bass will be retiring from AdvancED on June 30, 2013, after serving as a longtime Director for AdvancED and NCA CASI.  A retirement reception was held on April 11th at the Keller Noggle Building (home of the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators) in Little Rock.  About 75 friends, family, colleagues and current educational leaders from around the state, including the deputy commissioner and assistant commissioners from the Arkansas Department of Education, celebrated Dr. Bass and her accomplishments.  Dr. Bass was presented with a silver tray acknowledging her 25 years as director of AdvancED Arkansas and NCA CASI, along with gifts and cards from across the nation.  Check out the photos shared in this special edition newsletter.

Currently, Dr. Bass is serving in a support capacity as the new AdvancED Arkansas Director, Kenny Pennington, transitions into his  role.  Kenny comes to us from Monticello High School where he served as Principal for 15 years.  Kenny is joined by Carol St. John as  the new Administrative Assistant replacing Phyllis Russell who also will be leaving. We thank Dr. Bass and Phyllis for their unwavering support and devotion to education.  Kenny and Carol will be working from the new office location of AdvancED Arkansas on the University of AR, Monticello Campus. Visit the AdvancED Arkansas web page for up-to-date contact information.
