An Important Time for Autism Work

On September 30, President Obama signed legislation renewing the
landmark Combating Autism Act for another three years. CEO Charlie Homer offers a hopeful leadership message about NICHQ’s ongoing improvement work with autism in a climate of political support.
CDC and NICHQ Launch Nationwide Breastfeeding Project

NICHQ will lead a nationwide effort to promote breastfeeding and
increase the number of hospitals with Baby-Friendly designation. You can learn more about the project on our website, where you can also access a form to indicate your interest in getting involved.

Bringing the Parents’ Perspective to Quality Improvement

Janet DesGeorges and other parents engaged in the Improving Hearing Screening and

Introducing Tom Dahlborg

NICHQ to Participate in Obesity Prevention in Two Massachusetts Communities

NICHQ will train healthcare professionals in Fitchburg and New Bedford, MA, as part of the state-run anti-obesity effort, Mass in Motion: Community-Clinical Partnerships to Reduce Childhood Obesity. The new project seeks to build on a variety of anti-obesity activities already underway at the community level in Massachusetts as a part of the state’s Mass in Motion wellness initiative.
