Geneva stages the third British-Swiss Business Awards and Gala Dinner on 28th November 2013. This splendid occasion will witness the presentation of the awards to the winners of the four business categories in the competition. To view a list of the twelve finalists, please click here. This elegant soirée will be graced by the presence of Her Britannic Majesty’s Ambassador, Sarah Gillett, who will be paying her farewell visit to the Geneva Chapter. Evening Event with Colin Hamling of Crossrail on 19th November 2013 in Zurich
We invite you to an
evening briefing on the Crossrail project, the largest civil engineering
project in Europe and the first mainline railway in Britain for 100
years. Crossrail will revolutionise transport in London, but the
challenges are enormous. Our guest speaker will be Colin Hamling, Head of Insurance
at Crossrail. Mr Hamling will provide a detailed overview of the
challenges inherent in such a complex project, focussing on insurance
and risk management. He will also outline the benefits the Crossrail

The upcoming Christmas Reception in London
The annual Christmas Reception at the Swiss Embassy organised by the Swiss Business Hub UK in cooperation with the UK Chapter of the BSCC has become a regular and much-anticipated fixture in members’ diaries. This year the event takes place on Monday, 9 December 2013, starting at 6pm. We would like to thank London City Airport and Capital Private Wealth SA for making the reception possible, as well as Tibits, Nick Dobson Alpine Wines and Beschle Chocolatier Suisse, for furnishing the food, drink and chocolate which will lend a suitably Swiss air to the festive occasion. BSCC Traditional Pub Quiz Night with Quiz Master Diccon Bewes on 12th December 2013 in Zurich
The BSCC welcomes you to a traditional pub quiz night hosted by Diccon Bewes. Since the launch of his first book Swiss Watching he has spoken at a wide range of events, bookshop signings, expat organisations, schools & universities, and private companies. He speaks about living in Switzerland, being an Englishman abroad, “Swissness” and similar cross-cultural themes. One tour, two trips and 150 years – and a world of change – apart. That was the premise behind his new book, "Slow Train to Switzerland", a copy of which will be in the winning team's goody bags.

UK Chapter hosts two major Financial Services Lunches in October
Nathalie Dauriac-Stoebe, Chief Executive of Signia Wealth, spoke at the Carlton Club about "Managing wealth for entrepreneurs: the hot segment of the future." Guests were provided with a refreshing personal insight into the reasons for Signia's success and a clear message about the importance of integrity in financial services. The event was sponsored by MilleniumAssociates AG.
Patrick Odier, Chairman of the Swiss Bankers Association, spoke at the Oxford and Cambridge Club on "The future of Swiss banking: challenges and opportunities." Mr Odier offered a thought-provoking insight into the past, present and future of the Swiss financial services industry. The event was organised with the Swiss Embassy in London. Burns Supper in Zurich on 24th January 2014
To celebrate the 255th anniversary of the birth of Scotland’s national bard, Robert Burns, we are hosting our second Burns Supper in Zurich. Burns Night is celebrated all around the world and is a truly unique event. Our evening will start with a drinks reception and then we will be piped into dinner. We will enjoy a traditional Burns night menu with wine, a whisky tasting offered by Diageo, toasts, traditional highland dancing and a prize draw offered by Scottish Development International and VisitScotland Business Tourism Unit.
