TEDx puts Griffith on world stage
Griffith University has staged the spectacularly successful TEDxGriffithUniversity at its Gold Coast campus. The event, which showcased the extraordinary achievements of thinkers, business leaders, scientists and adventurers, was based on the theme "Knowledge is...". The event was also simulcast live to the other four Griffith campuses, as well as online.

Griffith launches new Archive website
Griffith has launched the Griffith University Archive - a remarkable collection of historical artefacts relating to the University since its inception. The Archive documents Griffith's story by collecting and preserving relevant documents, photographs, oral histories, memorabilia and other artefacts. It also details significant aspects of the organisation's history and changes throughout the year. World Press Photo Award for Raphaela
Raphaela Rosella has won one of the world's most coveted photographic prizes. The 26-year-old Queensland College of Art photography honours graduate was named the winner of the portrait category in the 2015 World Press Photo Awards. Raphaela was the only Australian finalist selected from the 97,912 entries submitted by 5,692 photographers from 131 countries. Her award winning image (above) was of a Kamilaroi girl named Laurinda, taken as she waited outside her home in Moree, NSW for a bus to Sunday School.

Caribbean findings may impact Barrier Reef studies
Corals may be better equipped to tolerate climate change than previously believed, according to research led by Griffith University's Dr Emma Kennedy. Working with scientists from the University of Exeter in the UK, Dr Kennedy says the findings - published in the journal Coral Reefs - relate to an extensive study of Caribbean corals, but could influence future analysis of Australia's Great Barrier Reef.
