The Journey Begins!

4,000 Year Road Trip: Gathering Sparks opened on February
2 with rave reviews from visitors and the media. The exhibit is a dynamic journey through art, artifacts and installations that illustrate, narrate and celebrate the Jewish journey. Who and what comprise the layers of your life? What would a collage of those things look like? Join artist Claudia Roulier to explore paint and collage techniques. The Power of Civic Engagement, Part II

Carlotta Walls LaNier, one of the Little Rock Nine, and human rights activists Sheldon Steinhauser and Helen Giron will tell their stories and urge students to seize their power to promote change. The Mizel Museum will honor Sharon Magness Blake with the 2011 Community Enrichment Award on May 26 at Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum. Highlights will include Lee Greenwood singing the National Anthem and a special video presentation by Garth Brooks. Tables are filling up quickly. Well-known Russian master painter and professor, Boris Shoshensky, teaches a variety of concepts and techniques for beginning and experienced painters.
