“Jonathan Gardner will be an outstanding addition to DASNY’s Board,” said Paul T. Williams, Jr., DASNY President & CEO. “His selection is a reflection of Governor Cuomo’s commitment to the continued economic revitalization of Western New York.”
Mr. Gardner said, “I am honored by the responsibility and opportunity that Governor Cuomo has offered me, DASNY’s Board is known for its strong leadership and scrupulous oversight. I look forward to helping support the mission of this important State finance and construction authority.”
In addition to his law practice, Mr. Gardner is an adjunct professor at the University of Buffalo Law School where he teaches a clinical course in corporate and securities law. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Buffalo Urban League and also a member of the Board of Directors of the Michigan Street Historic Preservation Corporation which owns and operates the Nash House Museum in Buffalo.
Mr. Gardner received a B.A. with honors from Brown University and a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. Mr. Gardner is admitted to the state bars of New York and Massachusetts. He is listed in "Best Lawyers in America" and “Superlawyers.”
DASNY is governed by an eleven-member board. Board members include the Commissioner of Education of the State, the Commissioner of Health of the State, the State Comptroller or one member appointed by him or her who serves until his or her successor is appointed, the Director of the Budget of the State, one member appointed by the Temporary President of the State Senate, one member appointed by the Speaker of the State Assembly and five members appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate, for terms of three years. Mr. Gardner’s term expires on March 31, 2015; the position is uncompensated.
