Celebrating ISACA's 50th Anniversary

 isaca50olor'

Next year, ISACA will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary!  To kick off the 50th Anniversary celebration, ISACA is launching the ISACA50 campaign to a detailed timeline of ISACA’s first 50 years.

Founded in 1969, the organization was first known as the Electronic Data Processing Auditors Association (EDPAA) and was incorporated in Los Angeles, California.  The first publication, Control Objectives, was released in 1975 and outlined data processing audit and control best practices.  One year later, in 1976, the first chapters outside of the United States were established, Mexico City, Mexico and Sydney, Australia.  The Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification was introduced in 1978.  It wasn’t until 1994 when the organization formally changed its name to the one we know today, Information Systems Audit and Control Association, just after its 25th Anniversary.

At this point, ISACA had more than 14,000 members in 134 chapters in 60 countries!  Fast-forward 25 years and there’s now over 135,000 members in over 220 chapters!

Visit www.isaca50.org for more details on ISACA’s rich history, a listing of Anniversary Events around the world, and ISACA50 branded swag.  You can also find stories about how the organization is honoring its past and innovating for the future.  Members from all around the world are submitting stories and you can, too!
