10-IFMA Chapter Appreciation

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

What a great meeting on July 20th! We had 60 members and 10 guests in attendance, which is fantastic! If you attended, I hope you learned something about the chapter operations and goals for the upcoming year.  As the sponsorship campaign for 2022-2023 has wrapped up, thank you to those who have trusted us by providing financial support to move the chapter forward. This year we are trending upward toward pre-pandemic levels in which we are very appreciative.

Last week I shared with you why IFMA is so important to me and how I have benefited from the chapter and my involvement. This year, if you haven’t already, I hope you can identify your “Why” and increase your engagement along with utilizing the chapter and membership opportunities within the chapter.

On August 10th we will have our monthly meeting with Anna Javellana, Addicted to Busy, 11:30a – 1:00p at Prestonwood Country Club. We hope to see you there.

Enjoy the rest of your summer and stay safe!

Ethan Tecklenberg, CFM

2022 BUCK FISHER IFMA FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

The Greater Triangle Chapter selected the two recipients of the Buck Fisher IFMA Foundation scholarship. Jason Tate and Reginald Warren were selected to receive a scholarship for their post-secondary studies in a field related to Facility Management.

Jason is currently studying Sustainable Built Environment at the University of Arizona.

Reginald holds a Bachelor’s in Construction Management from East Carolina and is working toward a Master of Engineering at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

When asked what this scholarship meant to them:

Jason said:  "I want to thank you for selecting me to receive the IFMA Foundation Buck Fisher Scholarship. This scholarship has provided me with the professional encouragement I needed to persevere toward the finish line. Even though I’m an adult student, well into my professional career, I am a first-generation college student and the first in my family to ever attain an associate degree. This scholarship allows me to work toward my dream of being the first to also attain a baccalaureate degree. I’m already a passionate advocate for education and the FM industry. Receiving this support has served to fuel that passion even further. Your support of this industry is making a vital difference."

Jason Tate Resize

Reginald said:  "Being selected for the IFMA Foundation Buck Fisher Scholarship means that this organization is invested in my academic and educational development which makes me appreciative and grateful.  This type of long-term strategic commitment to one of its members is the hallmark of an expectational, world-class organization, and demonstrates one of the many reasons why I enjoy my membership with this organization.  The generosity that IFMA has shown me has strengthen my passion to continue to pay it forward through acts of service that would hopefully benefit current and future industry professionals."

Reginald Warren
