Dear AFP-Hampton Roads Colleagues,
What a wonderful day we had to celebrate National Philanthropy Day! We had 640 fundraisers, philanthropists, volunteers, and guests gathered at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott to celebrate this year’s honorees and philanthropy in Hampton Roads! Thank you to Kate Wilson and the NPD committee for all that they did to make the day a success!
The celebration was the cherry on top of a great year for the chapter. Aside from NPD, we had over 100 attendees at our Fundraising Leadership Symposium featuring Lynne Wester, and continued to learn and grow from each other during workshops and socials! Several of our members earned their Certified Fund Raising Executive credential, and we were awarded the Ten Star Award, Friends of Diversity Award. We also became the largest chapter in Virginia due to all of YOU!
It has been an honor serving as your chapter president this year, and I hope you will join me to celebrate the holiday season, our 2019 accomplishments and welcome the 2020 AFP-HR Board on December 17th at 11:30 at the Town Center City Club.
