March is here, and I cannot believe how fast 2023 is going.  In just over a week, we are having our 4th Annual IFMA Carolina's Summit and Gala in Charlotte. For those of you who have signed up, I look forward to seeing you there as it is going to be a great event.  

On March 16^th, we will be having our annual March Madness Event at Rally Point, and all donations will support the Boys and Girls Club. If you haven’t attended this event before, I highly recommend it. It is a lot of fun, a great opportunity to network, and is all for a great organization! With warmer weather comes our Chapter Golf Event scheduled for April 26^th, and again this is an amazing event.

It is hard to believe that in a couple of months, the leadership team will be having a retreat to begin planning for the 2023-2024 fiscal year. Input from you is needed to ensure we are continuing to move the Chapter in the right direction. In the coming weeks, you will receive a survey from the Chapter. The feedback that you provide on that survey, along with feedback we’ve received throughout the year, will be vital to developing our strategy for the 2023-2024 year. In years past, our survey response rate has been about 20%. This year, I’d like to challenge each of you to complete the survey.

GTC OF IFMA MARCH MADNESS EVENT AND BRACKET CHALLENGE

Please Join the March Madness Bracket Challenge to Benefit the Boys and Girls Club!

DATE: Thursday, March 16th at 4PM

LOCATION: Rally Point Sport Grill, 837 Bass Pro Ln, Cary, NC 27513

A $20.00 donation* is required, which includes your first bracket and social attendance. You may purchase additional brackets for $20.00 each. After you donate, you will receive a link to the online bracket site to fill in your bracket once the tournament teams are announced. We also have the Winning Team Lottery Ball for $10.00 each and the Cornhole Tournament at $10.00 per player!

You can also send the link to friends and family if they would like to participate in the Bracket Challenge only. We’re trying to encourage everyone to get their colleagues, friends & families to sign up in order to help us increase donations. Each $20 bracket bought helps support two kids' annual membership for the Boys & Girls Club so it goes a long way.

Sponsorships are also available at $250.00 each!

 Members will receive 2 emails at that time-one for twosome registration and one for sponsorships and mulligan presales.

FEBRUARY 2023 MONTHLY MEETING RECAP

The GTC of IFMA held a well attended luncheon on February 8th on Adaptive Reuse featuring Ron Staley, Senior Vice President and Executive Director of Historic Preservation at The Christman Company.

 He shared multiple project examples where historic tax credits were utilized by developers to find “new uses” for historic structures including those thought lost from any economic viability. The presentation included examples from North Carolina as well as Christman’s national portfolio.
