Upcoming Reporting Due Dates

Districts: District Improvement Plans and Program Evaluations are due June 30, 2017.

Single Building Districts: Single Building District Improvement Plans and Program Evaluations are due June 30, 2017.

Schools: Program Evaluations are due June 30, 2017. School Improvement Plans are due September 1, 2017.

School Quality Factors (SQF) and AdvancED Performance Standards

Don’t miss the opportunity to learn about the new AdvancED Performance Standards and School and System Quality Factors on June 22, 2017! This workshop will be facilitated by AdvancED staff and will include:

  • An overview of the new AdvancED Performance Standards and School and System Quality Factors that will be used beginning in 2017-18
  • Internal Review Components
  • Continuous Improvement Planning
  • Engagement Review Schedule and Outcomes

This workshop will be valuable for representatives from schools and school systems planning AdvancED Engagement Reviews (formerly External Reviews) beginning in 2017-18. Register today.

AdvancED Michgan Fall Conference 2017

Join us on October 19-20, 2017 for the AdvancED Michigan Fall Conference at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi.

Keynote Speaker, Sheila Alles, Chief Deputy Superintendent from Michigan Department of Education, will facilitate an expert panel on the true meaning of continuous improvement and how it can positively impact conditions, practices, and processes for teaching and learning.
Teachers, building and district-level administrators, and continuous improvement team members will gain valuable information on new AdvancED Standards and Protocols, meaningful continuous improvement strategies, closing the achievement gap, and so much more!

Michigan Department of Education Fall Conference

The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) is pleased to announce that Dr. Steve Perry, Principal of Capital Preparatory Magnet School, author, and Education Contributor for CNN and MSNBC, will be our keynote speaker for the Fall School Improvement Conference on November 20, 2017. Dr. Perry’s keynote and breakout session will focus on “Teaching and Engaging students in Poverty.” 

On November 21, 2017, Dr. John Almarode from James Madison University Center for STEM Education Outreach will present “Teaching Children in Poverty: What Works Best in Teaching and Learning.” Dr. Almarode continues the focus on how to engage students living in poverty that Dr. Eric Jensen shared last fall. Registration will be available in early June.
