Happy June! It might just be me, but I can't believe it's Summer! We had such a mild winter - I think I wore my heavy coat maybe a dozen times - definitely not normal for the Lou! Gateway Motorsports Park was a great location and host for our St. Louis update meeting on Wednesday, May 17th. Guests were able to enjoy the delicious lunch and learn more about the progress being made in St. Louis and the exciting things happening in the next few years. Kitty Ratcliffe prepared and gave a great presentation, and we thank her for her time and the knowledge she shared during a fun lunch.

Last Call for Scholarship Applications! Deadline Extended to June 16th!
|
Scholarship applications are now available online for the 2017 Saint Louis Attractions Association Carole Moody Scholarship. The scholarship is open to any undergraduate college student or high school senior entering college majoring in a field that could contribute to the tourism/hospitality industry and maintaining a 3.0 or B grade point average. Thank you to all who participated in the Trip Raffle and 50/50 at the May Meeting! Our winners took home some great Cardinal's tickets, a night at the Drury and tickets to an Indy race, as well as $42 in cold hard cash! Thank you to Gateway Motorsports Park, Madden Media, and the Gateway Arch for donating to the Trip Raffle. As always, if you can donate something to the Trip Raffle, we are happy to have it. The Saint Louis Attractions Association is seeking members who wish to host the organization's bi-monthly meetings for the 2018 program year. SLAA is also seeking a host for the annual Silent Auction, which is held in November, and is the primary fundraiser for the Carole Moody Scholarship. Submit Your Nomination for the 2017 Spirit of St. Louis Awards!

Nominations for the Spirit of St. Louis Awards are accepted year-round. The purpose of the Spirit of St. Louis Awards is to honor those members of the attractions and hospitality industry who go the extra mile and put forth exemplary effort in helping to further the goals and objectives of the industry and the Saint Louis Attractions Association. The Association recognizes these noteworthy achievements each year at the January meeting.
Eligible nominees may have served in any of a variety of positions, ranging from front-line service to management, at an attraction, hotel, restaurant, or with any other associated or affiliated industry. Both members and non-members of SLAA are eligible to receive awards; however, nominations must be submitted by a SLAA member. You are welcome to make unlimited nominations.
