A Message from
Higher Things Conferences

Dear Group Leaders,

By way of introduction, we are Sandra Madden and Crysten Sanchez. Sandra is the Conference Executive and will also be coordinating the CUNE conference, and Crysten is the Conference Coordinator for the rest of this summer’s Concordia conferences. We are so excited to have you along this summer!

There is plenty of work to be done before the conferences begin. Over the next 10 weeks, you’ll be receiving emails just like this keeping you informed about everything you need to know leading up to the conference. Each email will have one or two main points, along with links to all past emails in case you need to look back at something. Also, please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have! First up…

Registration Balances

Make certain that you have your registration balances paid in full by April 30, 2019! A late fee of $25.00 per person’s unpaid balance will be assessed beginning on May 1st. Contact our Registrar, Cyndy Bishop (registrar@higherthings.org) with any questions or concerns.

There will be no refunds given beginning on May 1, 2019 (including individuals who do not show up at conference check-in). If you need to cancel a registrant and you do not have a replacement, make sure this is done by April 30, 2019. You may make substitutions at no charge until then, but beginning on May 1st there is a $25.00 charge per substitution.

Please also ensure that your housing requests are as you want them. For instance, the dates you need housing should reflect the dates you intend to stay on campus (remember, you are able to stay on campus the night before the conference begins and/or the night after if it is indicated on your registration and you have paid for those options). You must also pre-register and pay for a private room if you choose to stay in a room by yourself.

Please see our Registration Policies for further information on registration balances.

Waiting List

We have reached a waiting list at the Nebraska conference. If it affects your group, Cyndy Bishop should have already been in touch with you. Please be aware of our Waiting List Policy.

Coming Soon: Background Checks, Release Forms, and Conference Accessibility for those with Disabilities

Again, we can’t wait to see you this summer at Concordia! If we can help you with anything, please let us know!

Blessings,

Sandra Madden and Crysten Sanchez

“The Word of the Lord endures forever.”
(1 Peter 1:25)

“Concordia.” It literally means “with one heart” in Latin. The Church is unified around the confession of Jesus as our Lord and Savior like a congregation singing together in many different parts but singing the same song together in perfect harmony.

Concordia isn’t just a feeling that we are one. It’s not only something that we strive to have. We don’t sacrifice what we believe in order to be unified. True Concord is always centered around the confession of Christ and Him crucified!

God speaks. We receive His words into our ears. He gives our tongues the words to say to Him and to those around us. We repeat, together, His Words back to Him. We sing them, we confess them, all agreeing together, “with one heart and voice” our confession of Jesus!

In a world where youth are tempted to compromise, Higher Things is excited to plan our 2019 Conferences centered on the theme of the Church and Unity.

What have I missed?...
