Pitkin Commissioners Kick in $50k to New Psychiatric Hospital

Valley View Earns AIUM Ultrasound Practice Accreditation

Women's Health at Valley View Hospital has received accreditation from the Ultrasound Practice Accreditation Commission of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) in the areas of Gynecology and Obstetrics. According to AIUM's Directory of Accredited Practices, Women's Health is the first one on the Western Slope to earn this accreditation. read more

Vail Valley Shaw Cancer Center Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary 

Vail_LogoThis summer marks the 10 year anniversary of Jack's Place, a cancer caring house at Shaw Cancer Center. In the 1990's, Dr. Jack Eck saw an increase in cancer among his patients. Not having the proper facility to care for them, he had to send them to Denver for treatment. read more

Heart of the Rockies is Expanding

The Salida Hospital District Board unanimously passed a resolution at a special board meeting on June 16th authorizing construction of a new medical office building on the main campus of Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center. The Board also approved expansion of the existing laboratory and construction of new staff parking lots as well as internal roads to access those lots. The drawings for the 48,000 square foot expansion were presented at the meeting. read more

HRRMC Surgeon Elected President of National Organization 
Robert Hunter, MD, director of the Orthopedic Center of Excellence at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center, was named president of The Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) at the association's annual meeting in Denver on May 20th. read more 

Dr. David and Peg Arnett Selected as 
Hall of Fame Recipients
 
The Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center Foundation announced on June 20th that Dr. David and Peg Arnett will be formally inducted into the HRRMC Hall of Fame at the Jewel Ball, the Foundation's annual fundraising gala which will be held on September 30th. read more

Moffat County Proactively Addresses Uncertainty in Healthcare

How Proposed Medicaid Cuts Could Impact Southwest Health
