Associate Professor Amani Bell
IRU Vice Chancellors' Fellow
Associate Professor Amani Bell is Vice-Chancellors’ Fellow at the Innovative Research Universities, where she plays a central role in guiding IRU members to identify and share good practice to advance good outcomes for students and prepare them well for future success as graduates. Her previous research focused on building the teaching capacity of academics, via peer observation, critical reflection and mentoring. Her current research focuses on students and staff working in partnership to enhance university education – an area of growing momentum in Australia and internationally.
Amani is a Senior Fellow of, and accreditor for, Advance HE and is a co-editor of the journal Higher Education Research & Development. She is lead editor of the 2018 book Understanding Experiences of First Generation University Students: Culturally Responsive and Sustaining Methodologies, published by Bloomsbury.
