Regent's Message

Over the past week at the ACHE national meeting I had the opportunity to see ACHE’s Council of Regents in action and to visit with Regents from District 4 and throughout the nation. It is apparent the Regent’s role is one of education, guidance, connectivity of members and member recognition. I would be remiss if I don’t use this first communication opportunity to recognize someone by calling your attention to our out-going Regent, Pat Bira, FACHE and his efforts as our Regent for the past 3 years. He took the time to recognize those who joined ACHE for the first time or those who advanced to the FACHE level, he encouraged and supported developing education around the subject of diversity and at times he simply listened to many of our members as we grappled with the flurry of change we are experiencing. The St Louis College of Health Careers Physical Therapist Assistant program received a highly coveted five (5) year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).

Harris-Stowe State University Update

Joyce Eisel, Dr.P.H. has been named as a Speaker at the 4th International Medical Tourism Congress to be held in Washington, D.C. in September. Dr. Eisel will discuss her research “Global Healthcare Management Emerges as a Multinational Business/Clinical Model”.

Healthcare Management student Genealdo Williams received an Internship with Wells Fargo as a Project Director.

The Student Healthcare Management Club has organized information and sign-up sessions for students and the community regarding the Affordable Care Act.
