Our January Event - Annual Employment Law Update and HR Survival Skills Test
The day to day existence of a human resources professional can, at some times, feel as a survival game where contestants, without much, if any prior notice, must use their just wits and whatever tools they have at their finger tips to respond to any number of pressing workplace issues.  For more info, check our flyer.

When coming to the Meeting, please consider support of the
Coats, Hats, Gloves and other warm clothes to New Horizons for area Homeless - Jim Reidy's Legal Update this month is entitled "HR Naked and Afraid". While this is going to be an educational and entertaining update, in keeping with the theme we would like to collect new or gently used hats, gloves, coats and other warm clothes to be donated to New Horizons and then distributed to the area's many homeless people.
New Hampshire Food Bank - Dry Goods and Canned Goods. A reminder that MAHRA selected the NH Food Bank as its main charitable partner this year. The NH Food Bank serves greater Manchester and the need for food is greater now more than ever. We are looking for canned goods and dry goods to stock the Food Bank's pantry. Every little bit counts.

Thanks in advance for your generous gifts.

Meet our Board - In September, three new members joined our Board of Directors.  In this newsletter, meet our new Treasurer - Elect, Dan Simard

MAHRA Presents NH Career Connections - "Reaching Out to Move Up in Life"  - After the first annual Career Connections event, the MAHRA team feels optimistic about its future.  There were around 40 companies in attendance and about 100 students who took full advantage of the opportunity to connect with these businesses.  These numbers are expected to grow in the coming years.  The support received from companies, schools, students, and elected officials was inspiring.  Everyone in attendance wanted to see these students succeed, and understood the value MAHRA was trying to bring to students and the greater New Hampshire communities.  We are excited that this program was so well received and we have been asked by two local high schools to provide similar events at their campuses in the spring.

The MAHRA team would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to those who helped make our first annual Career Connections event successful!  We look forward to next year’s event.  Happy holidays to all.

Contributions to Support Manchester Police Officers and their Families
At our October MAHRA Meeting, Manchester Police Assistant Chief Carlo Capano accepted, on behalf of the Manchester Police Department, a proclamation showing MAHRA's appreciation and pledge of support of the Manchester Police. In keeping with that pledge and in response to the horrific outbreak nationwide of violence directed at police officers, MAHRA is collecting donations at our January meeting for the Manchester Police Department. Contributions can be made at any of the upcoming program meetings or as you register for an event.  You can also go on the MAHRA website and make a donation. Finally, you can bring in a check to the January meeting.
