Dear ExampleContactFirstName,

Welcome to the first Staff Giving news update of 2020.

As a Staff Giving payroll member - thank you so much for continuing to make a difference in the lives of students in need at Griffith University.
Professor Martin Betts

Your gift is hard at work already this year, with 108 students being notified of their life-changing scholarship, of which 49 were funded through our wonderful program.

You may like to take the opportunity to meet and congratulate students like Kyle (below), at one of our upcoming welcome lunch-time events at the Gold Coast, Logan, Mt Gravatt, and Nathan campuses in March. Please clear your diaries, join us and bring some colleagues along too! Register below.

With 108 students this year, would you consider being a Staff Buddy? Thanks to those of you who have already responded to this invitation, but we still need more of you.

Find out more and register to attend a welcome lunch and/or be a Staff Giving Buddy below by Tuesday 18 February.

Thank you for being a Staff Giver and for being part of this amazing group of Staff Givers at Griffith!

Kyle Payne
Kyle Payne is in his third year of a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), based at the Gold Coast campus.

Kyle (pictured) was incredibly grateful to learn he was to be awarded a Griffith Futures Scholarship again this year. Here's what he had to say about your generosity.

"Last year, the scholarship helped me so much more than I thought it was going to. It made my life a lot easier and less stressful," he said.

"It helped with transport to and from university and driving my blind mother around to where we need to go, to helping me buy supplies for my studies. Your support saved us quite a few times.

"I can't thank you enough for your support again this year!"

Who wants to be a Staff Buddy in 2020?

Who wants to be a Staff Buddy in 2019?
One aspect of the Staff Giving Program is the Buddy Program. This is a voluntary program which pairs a Staff Giver with a scholarship recipient to provide support and advice throughout the year.

This can be coffee catch ups or just a friendly face to chat with at various planned activities and events.

Please note this is not an academic mentorship and no knowledge of the students study area is required. However, if you would prefer a student from a particular discipline, then that’s something we can look to match up.

19 of you have volunteered so far, but with 108 scholarship recipients, it would be great to have more of you involved! You can find out about the Buddy Program here.

Please let us know by registering your interest by Tuesday 18 February 2020.
