Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Direct Service Workers: The Essentials for Anxiety, Depression and PTSD

This training is suitable for: Psychotherapists, counsellors, psychologists, social workers, psychiatrists, pediatricians, family doctors, drop in workers, shelter, and hostel workers.
Description: In this two-day workshop, key features of CBT will be explained and demonstrated so that participants gain an excellent foundation in CBT and are able to apply CBT techniques into their clinical work. Behavioral and cognitive interventions will be described including behavioral activation, cognitive restructuring and exposure. Practical, step-by-step guidelines on implementing CBT strategies will be demonstrated through examples, role-plays and videos.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Certificate Level 1: Practical Solutions to Real World Problems

This training is suitable for: Professionals who work with people who suffer from common psychiatric disorders (anxiety and depression), and complex clinical problems (abuse, addictions, brain injuries, trauma, work-related accidents): mental health and medical professionals, and direct service workers.
Description: In this certificate program, participants will learn cognitive and behavioural strategies, including case formulation and conceptualization in CBT, identifying and modifying thoughts, behaviour activation and experiments, exposure, stress reduction strategies, and problem-solving therapy. This course provides instruction on a set of tools that can be applied to common and more complex mental health conditions.

Level 1 Trauma Certificate: Trauma Counselling for Front-Line Workers

This training is suitable for: Experienced front-line workers (nurses, clergy, social workers, residential workers, addiction counsellors, psychotherapists) who provide short-term counselling with vulnerable populations in community based settings.
Description: In this 6-day certificate program, participants will be given the most current information on the biopsychosocial phenomenon of trauma, and training in how to assess, and respond ethically, and appropriately to clients, given the parameters of the workplace.
Creative Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Interventions for Children with Anxiety: Innovative Techniques to Assess and Treat Children with Anxiety

This training is suitable for: Mental health professionals.
Prerequisites: Basic training in CBT.
Description: Best-selling author and one of Canada's foremost presenters on childhood trauma, Liana Lowenstein will present an overview of CBT, along with innovative techniques to assess and treat children with anxiety. Participants will learn interventions that will address the core treatment components. Through case examples, activity demonstrations, experiential exercises, and videos of actual client sessions, this one-day workshop will combine theoretical material with hands-on therapeutic interventions that can be easily translated into practice.
Narrative Therapy Certificate: Actively Engage and Leave Empowered to Implement Change

This training is suitable for: Those interested in Narrative Therapy as a beginner, or who have taken Narrative workshops, but would like a refresher on how to apply it.
Description: This 5-day certificate program breaks down the theory of Narrative Therapy into skills that can be implemented immediately into your practice. After each session, participants will leave with a clear set of steps to incorporate this therapeutic model into practice. This workshop will utilize interactive conversations, small and large group exercises, live demonstrations, coached practices, and worksheet handouts. |
