Business, Higher Education, and Heathcare Heads to Capitol Hill for Federal Research Funding

The Northern Virginia Chamber joined business groups as well as higher education and healthcare institutions on Capitol Hill last week to make the business case for investing in federal research funding. The Northern Virginia Chamber has been one of more than 80 chambers nationwide that are members of the Business for Federal Research Funding coalition. An initiative led by the Greater Boston Chamber, the coalition recognizes the incredible economic impact that federal research grants can have on a region and its business community. In fact, for every $1 invested in research at medical schools and teaching hospitals, $2.60 of economic activity occurs. The chamber joined the coalition on Capitol Hill last week to emphasize with leaders that it's time for the government to step up and support research and development the way they used to in decades past.

Support the Business Voice

Advertising opportunities are now available in the Summer issue of The Business Voice, the Chamber’s official quarterly magazine.  This edition, publishing in mid-July, will feature an in-depth look at one of the region’s largest restaurant groups, a recap and photos from the Chamber’s i-List Awards and Good Business Awards events, and other articles about chamber activities and local businesses.  The Business Voice is mailed to over 1,500 Chamber members, with additional copies available for free at all Chamber events and at selected locations in the region.  Additional exposure is provided by InsideNoVa.com, the region’ s largest news web site, which posts the digital edition of the magazine online and promotes it to its 50,000-plus e-mail subscribers. Your message in The Business Voice not only reaches the region’s top business and community leaders but also supports the activities of the Chamber, which receives a portion of advertising revenue.  To advertise, contact Kate Sprague at ksprague@insidenova.com.
