The Relationship and Patient-Centered Care

Hospitals Sought for Breastfeeding Quality Improvement Project

Please join NICHQ and the CDC for an informational webinar on January 12, 2012, about Best Fed Beginnings, an initiative to improve maternity care practices nationwide by improving breastfeeding practices through Baby-Friendly USA designation. Attendees will learn more about the initiative, including how to get involved in the 18-month nationwide learning collaborative that will engage up to 90 hospitals.

Changing Behaviors One Square Mile at a Time

The San Diego Collaborate for Healthy Weight Team is focusing its efforts on a tiny section of Chula Vista, California. A local Chula Vista childcare center, elementary school, primary care office and a convenience store will be a testing ground for their place-based intervention. Read more.

Join Us: Collaborate for Healthy Weight Seeks Teams for Second Phase

NICHQ will host a webinar about our plans for recruiting 40 multi-sector teams to participate in the second phase of the Healthy Weight Learning Collaborative. Participants can learn how to apply as a team and have their questions answered by project faculty.

WISCH Faculty Co-Author Article Featured in Pediatrics

Two faculty members from the NICHQ's Working to Improve Sickle Cell Healthcare (WISCH) project, Patricia L. Kavanagh and C. Jason Wang, contributed to the article, "Management of Children with Sickle Cell Disease: A Comprehensive Review of the Literature," which was published in the November issue of Pediatrics. New Tool for Caregivers of Children with Autism

The practices involved in NICHQ’s Improving Care for Children with Autism learning collaborative have developed an “After Visit Summary,” which helps parents navigate the next steps when their child has been given an autism diagnosis.
