Did you know that MPI has an online community specifically for OUR CHAPTER?
The global communities can be daunting, and filled with information that may not be relevant to what you need here in PA. The MPI Middle Pennsylvania Community was created for our chapter members to ask questions and get responses from peers you know and trust. To begin receiving notifications of community posts, or to post your own questions, follow these easy steps:
- Go to our chapter homepage: https://www.mpi.org/chapters/middle-pennsylvania
- Click the banner shown above for the MyMPI Online Member Community
- Select the blue “Sign In” button at the top right to log into your MPI account
- Once in the community, be sure to update your email preferences by clicking the “Settings” button to the right of the chapter community name. You can get notified immediately when someone posts a question, or you can get daily digests to summarize all posts from the day prior.

President's Message
Thank you to the MPIMP board and members for allowing me to serve as your president over the past year. As my term winds down and Cyndy Cosner begins her term on July 1, I’m astonished at how quickly a year can pass! I can never express to the Middle PA members and my fellow board members how much being president has meant. Thank you for the faith you put in me to lead this organization.
The last three months have certainly seemed to have taken over the entire year at this point! I am very proud of the chapter’s ability to quickly transition to a whole host of virtual events to keep our members informed and connected during the last few months. Don’t forget to keep checking our website for more information about upcoming events.
A special thank you to our outgoing board members, Brian Griffith, Pam Kammerer and Mari Killian. All three are past presidents of our chapter and have been outstanding leaders as they have worked to make MPIMP the award-winning chapter that it is.
Welcome to our incoming board members - Penn Brady, Jenn James, Patrick Borque, Wendy Fonner and Abeer Allen. They are great additions to the board and I look forward to their contributions to MPIMP.
Lastly, please keep all of our members, family and friends who have either lost someone during this pandemic or have lost their jobs in your thoughts as we hopefully, move back toward the world we used to know. I know I look forward to seeing you all in person this fall.
Terry Cochran, MPIMP President
May Education Webinar Recap
|
“Continuing education for our members is a top priority of our chapter, and we were so grateful to have Rosemarie Rossetti, Ph.D. share her wisdom with us on April 29th with the webinar presentation of “Accommodating People with Disabilities at Meetings and Events.” This event was EIC credit approved.
Dr. Rossetti discussed the methods for meeting planners and suppliers to save time and reduce stress as they plan inclusive events, and ways to evaluate the needs and expectations of attendees. She provided direction on where planners and suppliers can resource more information and laws to accommodate people with disabilities, and shared her first-hand personal experiences while attending events.
The Zoom webinar was one of the first online education platforms for the chapter, and was very successful.
The chapter plans on hosting three more education Zoom webinars this summer. Mark your calendars for June 3rd, July 1st and August 5th at
10 AM! Registration coming soon.
