Latin American private capital associations AMEXCAP, ARCAP, and ABVCAP hosted highly successful annual meetings in Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil in late May. Senior national policy-makers were featured at all three events, alongside global and local investors.

AMEXCAP's speakers and topics included panels on AFORES, impact, family offices, exits, infrastructure, real estate, venture capital, and more.    

ARCAP's discussions were centered around the opportunity for venture and innovation, private equity, the macro future for Argentina, CVC, and more.

Colony Latam Partners Plans to Invest US$5b in Latin America

(WSJ) Colony Latam Partners formerly Abraaj’s Latin America subsidiary, plans to invest $5b in Latin America over the next 3-4 years. $1b will be invested in private equity, $500m each in clean energy and credit, and the rest in real estate. Half of the total investments will be dedicated to Mexico. Read more


Vinci Partners Acquires 8 Internet Providers To Create Vero (em português)

(Valor Econômico) In its first deal in the telecommunications sector, Vinci Partners acquired a holding company containing 8 internet providers in Minas Gerais. Vinci merged the companies to create Vero Internet. The total cost of the acquisition, merger, and continued growth investments is between R$500m and R$750m. Read more


InCoR Forms a Joint-Venture with Zinc One to Invest in Bongará Zinc Project

(Proactive Investors) InCoR Holdings formed a joint-venture with mining company Zinc One Resources to begin the development of the Bongara zinc mining project in Peru. InCoR will invest up to US$3.75m for a 80% stake in the mining project. Read more


Clairvest to Merge Chilean Gaming With Sun Dreams

(PE HUB) Canadian firm Clairvest Group agreed to merge its portfolio company Chilean Gaming Holdings with Sun Dreams creating one of the largest casino operating conglomerates in Latin America. Financial terms were not disclosed and Clairvest will remain an investor in the merged conglomerate. Read more


Vinci Partners Exits Cecrisa Through Sale to Duratex for R$1b (em português)

(Valor Econômico) Vinci Partners fully exited ceramic tile manufacturer Cecrisa through a strategic sale to Duratex. The sale was completed for a total price of R$1b including debt. Read more


BlackRock Buys Mexican Project From Canadian Solar Inc

(PE HUB) BlackRock purchased a 68MW solar power project in Aguascalientes, Mexico from Canadian Solar Inc. The project was purchased by Blackrock’s Infrastructure Fund II and financial terms were not disclosed. Read more


Brookfield Exits BRK Ambiental with Sale to GS Inima for R$780m (em português)
