June 2021 Newsletter
I think we can all agree, that the past year has presented certain challenges. We are proud to have been able to adapt so quickly: offering high value content and access to thought leaders for our members and guests. So far we have welcomed 32 new BSCC members in 2021 and we are looking forward to working with you and supporting you as much as can. We are excited about the future and are keen to slowly return back to face-to-face meetings and start organising in-person events, regulations permitting.
Our digital, hybrid and physical events programme in the coming months offers a variety of topics, from future of work and mental health to sustainability, healthcare and financials with high level speakers from Switzerland and the UK. For all our members, our Annual General Meeting this year has taken place in a circular format, please don't forget to register for our AGM webinar on 24th June to find out more about the results of the past year and to hear about our plans for the future. Take a look at all our upcoming events HERE.
We wish you all an enjoyable Summer and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at our forthcoming events. If you would like to get involved more with the Chamber, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
Best wishes,
Caroline Rosenberger
General Manager, The BSCC
New Swiss Ambassador in London
It is with great pleasure that we welcome the announcement of Markus Leitner as the new Swiss Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, based in London from August 2021. We look forward very much to working together with Ambassador Leitner in the coming years and to maintaining the excellent working relationship that the BSCC has with the Swiss Embassy in London.
At the same time we would like to say a most sincere thank you to Ambassador Alexandre Fasel, who has been a very great supporter of the Chamber over his four years tenure as the Swiss Ambassador to the UK. The Federal Council has appointed Ambassador Alexandre Fasel, an experienced and acknowledged expert on International Geneva, as the Switzerland’s first Special Envoy for Science Diplomacy. We wish him all the best in his exciting and critical new role and we are hoping to see him as our guest at many future BSCC events.
