Dear ExampleContactFirstName,

Welcome to the first Staff Giving news update of 2019.

As a Staff Giving payroll member - thank you so much for continuing to make a difference in the lives of students in need at Griffith University.
Professor Martin Betts

Your gift is hard at work already this year, with 146 students being notified of their life-changing scholarship.  I hope you enjoy hearing from Caitlyn below on how she felt about receiving her scholarship this year.

Talking about our scholarship recipients, this year we are holding welcome lunch-time BBQs  at Nathan, Mt Gravatt, Logan and Gold Coast campuses in March, for you to meet and welcome them. Please clear your diaries, join us and bring some colleagues along too! Register below.

With 146 students this year, would you consider being a Staff Buddy? Or maybe you'd like to be a
Staff Giving event ambassador? Thanks to those of you who have already responded to this invitation, but we still need more of you.

Find out more and register to attend a welcome BBQ, be a Staff Giving Buddy and/or event ambassador below by 21 February.

Finally, we'd value your thoughts on the Staff Giving program, by completing a short 5 minute survey.

Thank you for being a Staff Giver, I can't wait to see what this year will bring and how many more staff we can add to our wonderful Staff Giving family.

I hope to meet many of you throughout the year, and thanks again for being part of this amazing group of Staff Givers at Griffith!

Thank you from Caitlyn

Caitlyn Egan
Caitlyn Egan is in her third year of a Bachelor of Psychological Science / Criminology and Criminal Justice, based at Mount Gravatt campus.

Caitlyn, on learning she was to receive the Griffith Futures Scholarship again this year, wanted to share the impact your generosity has had on her:

"Last year, the scholarship kept me at uni and it meant so much to be able to study without being so stressed.

I was completely shocked and grateful to receive the scholarship again this year. I will be able to afford textbooks and study with peace of mind. Thank you!"

Please join us at a scholarship welcome BBQ

Who wants to be a Staff Buddy in 2019?

Who wants to be a Staff Buddy in 2019?
One aspect of the Staff Giving Program is the Buddy Program. This is a voluntary program which pairs a Staff Giver with a scholarship recipient to provide support and advice throughout the year.

This can be coffee catch ups or just a friendly face to chat with at various planned activities and events.

Please note that this is not an academic mentorship and no knowledge of the students study area is required. However, if you would prefer a student from a particular discipline, then that’s something we can look to match up.

Eight of you have volunteered so far, but with 146 scholarship recipients, it would be great to have more of you involved! You can find out more about the Buddy Program here.

Please let us know by registering your interest by Thursday 21 February 2019.

Could you be a volunteer Staff Giving events
ambassador at your campus?

Help staff giving grow
One new exciting initiative planned to grow Staff Giving in 2019 is to offer more campus based events.

However, to do this, we need help from two to three volunteer Staff Givers at each of our five campuses. Thank you to the Gold Coast campus volunteers. That just leaves volunteers from our other campuses.

Could you be a volunteer Staff Giving events ambassador? If so, please register your interest below and Karen Scott will be in touch.
