Message From the President
Jim Paul
Thanks to Molly Marroquin, our creative Annual Leadership Conference Planning Committee Chairperson (and future Poet Laureate), all I need to do this month is introduce the following literary piece. I certainly could not say it any better. See you all at the Leadership Conference next Friday!

Twas the Month of the
HRMA Leadership Conference

Change Doesn't Have To Be Scary-Small
By Molly Marroquin

Twas the month of the conference, and throughout HRMA
The HR professionals were excited about the upcoming day
The programs were lined up in the schedule with care
In hopes that YOU would join us there

The business partners were prepping valuable information for us to see
While the Conference Committee dotted the i's and crossed the t's
And the Ameristar Casino staff ordering your food and snacks
The venue will be ready to host learning and networking (and blackjack!)

When out in the headlines there arose such a clatter
I sprang from my office chair to see what was the matter
Away to the HRMA website I flew like a flash
Opened the browser, clicked the link and held back a gasp.

Jim McKelvey, opening keynote, he'll bring us quite the show
It will be a great way to start the day, the audience will be aglow.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But Sharon Harvey Davis keynote in the afternoon, she's well revered.

So won't you join us for the learning and fun-filled day?
Your registration is just one click away!

I'll stop this rhyming nonsense and take a bow,
But only if you click here to register now!

Conference Volunteers Needed!
Are you attending the HRMA Leadership Conference on October 30th? Are you interested in helping the conference go off without a hitch? We are seeking volunteers to fill various roles throughout the day. None of the roles would take away from your ability to attend the sessions or earn HR credits. We are looking for a welcoming team, people to tweet during the sessions, and several other areas. To view the opportunities and sign up for a volunteer role, please click the SignUp Genius link here. To volunteer, enter your name and email address as prompted. Questions about volunteering? Email mollym@s2tech.com.

Say Cheese!
Have you been interested in getting a professional headshot yet haven't had the time? If you are heading to the HRMA Leadership Conference, you will have the opportunity to pose for a professional photo for a $25.00 donation to the SHRM Foundation. The SHRM Foundation is dedicated to the advancement of human resources by providing scholarships, education materials and further thought leadership in the profession. Please visit the SHRM Foundation booth at the conference to learn more!

Take the Pathway to SHRM Professional Certification
If you're not SHRM-certified, but have a valid HR generalist certification (including PHR, SPHR, GPHR, HRBP, HRMP, IPMA-CP) which you obtained by January 31, 2015, you are eligible for SHRM's new certification - at no cost - by completing the Online Tutorial Pathway before December 31, 2015. Visit www.shrmcertification.org/pathway to start this process.

Have you achieved your SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP competencies-based certification and are seeking recertification credits? If so, there is no better place to collect SHRM Professional Development Credits (PDCs) than by attending the 2015 HRMA St. Louis Leadership Conference to be held on October 30th! This event has been pre-approved for PDCs. Please note that you must complete the pathway before attending the conference to earn any recertification credits.
