Happy October! Welcome to fall – the season of falling leaves, trips to the wineries, and Bands of America! As St. Louis gets ready to welcome students into the city, we get excited about the events to come – Polar Express, Concerts at Scottrade Center, and several conventions many of our members have been working on all year!
I pause to reflect on the events in the city after the Verdict, and I would like to echo what Mayor Krewson and Kitty Radcliffe said in the meeting. We must look forward to upcoming events, and focus on making visitors to our community know we’re open for business. I know SLAA Businesses are up to the challenge!

I also want to point out our NEW Website! Please check out http://stlattractions.org! A very special THANK YOU to Tricia Wisbrock – this website would not have come together without her! We are so fortunate to have her on our Board. She worked endlessly to get this website up and running. A thank you is not really enough, but Thank You, Tricia! With a new website comes some growing pains –We know there are some items that need fixing – if you see something that needs to be changed, please let us know.

Please send all constructive feedback to Jen Hollenkamp, or myself, and we’ll do our best to get it fixed.

We have a few upcoming events to share – we hope you can attend!

November 15th, 2017 – November Meeting – SLAA Auction at DAS BEVO! Come support the Carol Moody Scholarship fund, and get some Holiday shopping done early! If you have donations, please send them to the SLAA Offices, or Kelly Hutchinson or Tyler Huth. (I’ll be donating an item I crocheted!) If you are interested in helping with the auction, please reach out to Kelly or Tyler as well.

That’s it for October – as always, thank you for your time and devotion to this association! If you have any questions, or I can be useful to you, please feel free to contact me. Thanks!

Discover St. Charles

The Greater Saint Charles Convention & Visitors Bureau is extremely excited and proud that Show-Me Missouri magazine featured Legends & Lanterns on the cover of their fall edition. The five-page article detailed the events scheduled for October 21-22 and October 27-29 when the ghostly guests return to Main Street. Make plans to discover the Halloween Legends during Legends & Lanterns, a “Spirited” journey through Halloween history.

At Saint Charles Christmas Traditions, beginning November 24 through December 24, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with some of the famous figures in holiday history, folklore, and literature. Each of the Santas from around the world and the Legends of Christmas are eager to share their stories with you in the form of a trading card.

Drury Plaza Hotel is now open at the Streets of St. Charles, conveniently located at I-70 and South Fifth Street, and just minutes from Main Street. They offer a daily free breakfast, as well as, free hot food and cold beverages every evening at the 5:30 pm Kickback.

Message From Fundraising Committee Co-Chair, Tyler Huth
Happy October from the Fundraising Committee! Kelly and I have been working hard with our Programs team for the upcoming Silent Auction on November 15th! We can't believe its coming up so quickly!! In case you missed it, the auction will be held at Das Bevo on November 15th, from 11:00am to 1:00pm!

All members should have received a letter asking for a donation for the Silent Auction in the past few weeks. We welcome all donations, big and small! We've even had a few members asking if they could team up on donations and build packages to auctions off- go right ahead!!! Its all about raising money for scholarships, the more you give, the more we can give! What a great way to get your company name in front of all our members too! If you have something to donate for the Silent Auction, please contact either Kelly (314-923-3080) or Tyler (618-698-9052), or send them directly to the SLAA Offices, located at .

The fundraising committee is always on the lookout for donations for our other fundraising opportunities as well, including the 50/50 Raffle and the Trip Raffle. We gave away some pretty amazing prizes at the last meeting and hope to give away many more in the future! We appreciate everyone participating in both raffles and congratulations to out winners from last month! If you have some ideas for the raffles please give Kelly or I a call!
