Celebrates 70 Years

On July 3, 2016, Family Health West (FHW) celebrated their 70th anniversary. FHW officially opened its doors on July 3, 1946 as a 20-bed hospital, then known as Fruita Community Hospital Association.
Since then, FHW has evolved into an organization that serves the community with a 16-bed hospital, surgical center, level 4 trauma ED, laboratory services, radiology services, and more. Congratulations FHW! read more

Sharon Raggio Appointed to Governor's Task Force
|
Sharon Raggio, President and CEO at Mind Springs Health, has been appointed to Governor Hickenlooper's new task force which will make legislative and policy recommendations regarding proper mental health treatment that preserve a person’s fundamental rights. It will also find ways to keep people with mental illness who have not committed a crime out of jail, provide in-patient psychiatric care to people in crisis, and develop a data-tracking system to learn the scope of the mental health hold problem in Colorado. read more

Yampa Valley Medical Center has gifted $150,000 to Routt County’s three school districts in an effort to boost behavioral health services and education.
The Steamboat Springs School District received $100,000 for the 2016-17 school year, while the South Routt School District and Hayden School District each were given $25,000. read more

The Memorial Hospital Foundation Lands $10k Grant to Purchase Radio Equipment

The Memorial Hospital Foundation has landed a $10,000 Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Provider Grant to help purchase new radio equipment for its three ambulances.
This is such great news for our rural residents in the Craig area, where emergency calls can carry challenges — and with limited cell phone coverage, the role of radio equipment in ambulances becomes particularly important. read more

St. Mary's Completes Century Project

After more than 10 years of planning and construction, St. Mary's has finished their Century Tower Project. On July 20th they opened the 9th and 10th floors of the tower. The new floors will house Neuro, Trauma and Stroke unites as well as general patients. read more
