CHANGES TO THE FARM BUREAU FAMILY
There has been a whole lotta shakin' and movin' going on at the home office! When we say 'changes, they are a comin', we don't mess around.  We hope this information brings you up to speed with who's who these days at Farm Bureau.

Let's start with retirement: Kent Yeager, director, public policy team, announced in January that he was ready to retire from Farm Bureau and focus more on his farm and family in Harrison County.  Kent is currently still around, but will be making his exit by August 30th.

Also retiring from the public policy team is Bob Kraft, long-time state government relations director and familiar face at the Statehouse.  Bob will retire in September to spend more time on the golf course and on the lake.

Moving ahead, PPT Director Megan Ritter named long-time PPT staff member Katrina Hall the new director of state government relations.  Joining that team is Kyle Cline as the new policy advisor for national government relations and Amy Cornell as policy advisor for IFB's state government relations.  Kyle joined the Farm Bureau family on July 8 and Amy's first day was July 22.

Mark Thornburg, director of IFB's legal team announced John Shoup joined the legal team as Director of the Indiana Ag Law Foundation.  John began his duties on July 22.

Lastly, we are sad to announce that Courtney Rude, WLC & YF program coordinator left Farm Bureau family on July 12.  She will be sadly missed, but we wish her well in her future endeavors.

We hope you will join us in congratulating those who are leaving us to move on to the next phase of their lives, and welcome those who are joining our family.

WORDS FROM ISABELLA
Life is full of changes and every change brings opportunity.  As we begin our search for a new program coordinator please do not hesitate to make suggestions and ask questions so we can make IFB the best it can be for you, agriculture and the future.  As members of IFB we thank you for your help and patience in the process.

I hope to see you at the state fair!

COUNTY RECOGNITION PROGRAM
As the County Recognition Program is in the last quarter, over 3,000 activities and events have been conducted across the state.  County woman leaders can take an active role in helping organize and implement activities in their Farm Bureaus.  With school about to start, donating agriculture books to a school library is an easy activity to help others learn about Indiana agriculture.  September 5, 2013, is an AITC Update at the Indiana state fairgrounds.  This is a great opportunity to involve members interested in teaching others about agriculture.  Finally, consider hosting a mid-September farm tour for a non-Farm Bureau audience.  Thank you for your efforts and your volunteerism.
