Milken Institute hosts its first Asia Summit
Singapore meeting brings together leaders from the region — and the world |
On September 18-19, we brought together CEOs, major investors, heads of sovereign wealth funds, philanthropists and other leaders from around the world for our first Asia Summit. These leaders met in Singapore to focus on some of the world's most pressing challenges, but with a strong Asian focus. Panel topics included prosperity and risk in the Asia-Pacific region, Asia's new crop of political leaders and the prognosis for health-care innovation in Asia. See the program here.
At the Summit, we released "Best-Performing Cities Asia 2014," the first ranking of the economic performance of Asia's major cities. The data reveal that in creating jobs and vibrant urban growth, China leads the pack. Of Asia's top 10 cities, six are in the People's Republic. Click here to see the full rankings.
We also published "Will the Next Asian Tiger Please Stand Up? Emerging Economies Poised to Advance." This report looks at the growth effects of improved financial markets and development of human capital in SEA-4 countries — Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam. |
