Join us for this artsy day that celebrates the light of the winter season through visual art and music. Both masters of their art forms, photographer Zion Ozeri and contemporary Jewish musician Rabbi Joe Black will deliver a mixed media performance crafted especially for our program. Artist members of the Mizel Museum will exhibit their fine art, crafts and jewelry, all available for sale–just in time for the winter holidays!. In Photos - Contemporary Jewish Migration, Causes & Effects

Thursday, November 8, 5:30-7:30pm

Zion Ozeri
The museum’s permanent exhibit, 4,000 Year Road Trip: Gathering Sparks, features the photography of Israeli artist Zion Ozeri. For this Salon Night, Ozeri will discuss the themes his photography so organically describes -- migration, immigration and the contemporary Jewish diaspora -- through a close look at his stunning portrait photographs from Yemen, Uzbekistan, the former Soviet Union and Latin America. The Art of Shabbat

In Photos - Abraham Responds

Friday, November 9, 4:15-6:30pm

For this unique Shabbat dinner, Israeli photographer Zion Ozeri will thoughtfully consider the week’s Torah portion, in which Abraham responds to various requests and challenges asked of him. Zion will select photographs from his collection that coincide with this Torah portion, illuminating words that on any other Shabbat are simply read. CLICK HERE for details and to register.

Creative Sundays Workshop

Fused Glass: Bowls of Light

Sunday, December 2,1-3:30pm

Gather sparks with Michael Thornton, stained glass artist for over 30 years. Participants of all levels explore this colorful, fun medium and create and assemble their own fused glass bowls. Over 35 colors of glass are available for your creation as well as a variety of dichroic glass. After assembly, Michael fires the projects and returns them to the artists. You're invited to a special presentation by acclaimed French children's book co-authors Serge Bloch and CharlElie Couture at the Art Students League of Denver, moderated by Mizel Museum Curator Georgina Kolber. Colorado Gives Day

Tuesday, December 4

Colorado Gives Day is an initiative to increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving. Presented by

Painting with Boris Shoshensky

Well-known master painter and professor Boris Shoshensky teaches concepts and techniques for all levels. Fall classes held on Tuesdays mid-day and Wednesday afternoons. To register email Gail or call (303) 749-5018.



Restorative Hatha Yoga

Enjoy a gentle, restorative yoga class in the peaceful, inspiring setting of Mizel Museum's exhibit. Classes are held on Tuesdays from 4:45-6:00pm. Price per class is $18; pay at the door.


Jewish Meditation with Rabbi Stephen Booth Nadav

Sunday, November 25, 4:30-6:00pm

Meditation is the practice of making ordinary moments sacred, or finding the sacred in the ordinary. Join Rabbi Steve to develop the skills of Jewish mindfulness including meditation instruction, chanting, walking, Torah and text study. Drop-in class; donations accepted.
