PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Sadly summer is coming to a close, and school is back in session, but on the bright side we have a fun fall in store. Aside from football, pumpkin spice, and cooler temperatures, we have some great programs lined up.

Kicking those off, on August 9th we had a great monthly meeting by Dhaval Gajjar, PhD, FMP, SFP. His “Data, Data, Data” presentation gave us multiple examples of capturing, maneuvering, and reporting data. A key factor was vendor identification based on price, level of expertise, risk mitigation, and value added. As Facility and Project Managers, we manage vendors daily, and some of Dhaval’s techniques could prove instrumental in creating efficiency and time/cost savings on our projects.

Thank you again to all our sponsors both new and continuing. Our Communications Committee is working diligently to update our promotional materials to properly recognize you all for your partnerships with the chapter.

DON’T FORGET… We have a great NEW event coming up the week of September 18th with our Boy and Girls Club Work Week. Be sure to sign up if you haven’t already or reach out to the Community Outreach Committee for more details.

And finally…I look forward to collaborating with those of you attending World Workplace in Denver at the end of September. It’s events like these that allow our chapter to keep “Growing Forward” by sharing best practices with our counterparts across the country.

BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB WORK WEEK

BAGC Work Week 2023

Please Join Us for a Meaningful Charity Work Week at the Boys & Girls Club!

On behalf of the IFMA Greater Triangle Chapter, we are excited to announce our upcoming Charity Work Week at the Boys & Girls Club taking place Monday, September 18th through Friday, September 22nd. We would like to extend a warm invitation to join us in making a positive impact in our community!

Throughout the week, we will be performing various maintenance & repair projects at the Boys & Girls Club Facilities located at 701 Raleigh Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27610. This includes The Teen Center, The Girls Club & The Boys Club. This is an excellent opportunity to give back, connect with like-minded individuals, and create lasting change together.

Here are a few ways you can get involved:

1. General Volunteer Opportunities for Professional Members: Join us for hands-on activities and we’ll pair you up with a selected associate volunteer team leader. Your time and effort can make a real difference in the lives of those in need.

2. Associate Members: Join us by using your industry expertise in the allotted categories needed. The Boys & Girls Clubs have limited funds therefore many of these items have not been able to get repaired as needed. We are asking for your help to donate your time & materials for specific repairs and maintenance to get these three facilities back into shape. They really need our hands-on experience so please sign up today and spread the word by encouraging your company, friends, and fellow colleagues throughout our organization to come help support this cause. Every contribution counts!

3. Community Outreach: Help us share this event on social media platforms and spread awareness about our cause. Together we can reach a wider audience and inspire more people to support our mission.

4. Sponsorship: We are hosting a Charity Work Week Ice Cream Truck Celebration Party with the kids and staff on Thursday, September 21st from 4:00-6:00pm. If you or your organization are interested in becoming a sponsor, we'd be delighted. Your support will ensure the success of our event and enable us to make a greater impact.

By participating in this event, you are directly contributing to the Boys & Girls Club’s ongoing efforts to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Together, we can create positive change and improve the lives of those in need by helping to make their facilities a safe place.

To learn more about our Charity Work Week and how you can get involved, please reference the google signup sheet below. This includes inspection reports for each facility & specific details for projects in need of repairs.

GTC OF IFMA AUGUST MONTHLY MEETING RECAP

    Photo8.23.2

The GTC of IFMA Programs and Networking and Events teams came together to put on another outstanding lunch and learn for our members.

We tried a new venue in Croasdaile Country Club, and the site selection and food were great. Plus we saw a lot of new faces!

We were very pleased to secure Dhaval Gajjar, Ph. D. to come speak to the chapter.  Dhaval took us on a journey that exemplified what IFMA is all about, connecting the facility managers to vendors to help each other out.

His presentation showed how information, data, and metrics work to strengthen the relationship and understanding between the two.
