A Message from the Chapter President, Mike Wescott

It seems like just yesterday when Wendy Glick asked me if I would consider being the Vice President for our AFP Chapter. That was close to 2 ½ years ago. Knowing full well that anything that is that far in the future is simply nothing I should worry about, I did exactly that. And then as is always the case, the next 2 ½ years flew by and here we are today.
It is my privilege and true honor to serve as your Chapter President. I walk in the footsteps of some truly gifted leaders who have served in this role. I could mention many, but these last two presidents, Wendy Glick and Molly Fox, have

taught me much about how important our work is as fundraising professionals and how important it is to advance our profession. I want to publicly thank them for all their hard work and patience with me as I have learned much from them.
I look forward to this coming year. We have only great things to come. Soon you will be hearing what we have in mind for all our programs for the year. Already the session in January featuring three videos from various programs in our Chapter was really inspiring. Thanks for all who make this programs happen.
This year one focus I’d like to propose to our Chapter is to look beyond Wichita to see how we can better serve our colleagues in specifically western and northern Kansas. The Greater Wichita Chapter geography basically extends all the way to the Colorado border. And I’d like to push us to consider how we can better develop, elevate and serve our colleagues in these areas of the state.

Ronald McDonald House Charities® Wichita Announces Grant Opportunity For Non-Profits
Non-profits who have a mission to improve the health and wellbeing of children are invited to apply for the next cycle of grants offered by Ronald McDonald House Charities Wichita (RMHC Wichita).
RMHC Wichita not only provides vital resources and compassionate care to children and their families being served by community health care providers through its two core programs, Ronald McDonald House® and Ronald McDonald Family Room®, it also extends grants to non- profit organizations in Kansas that make an immediate, positive impact for children in the areas of education and the arts, civic and social services, and health care and medical research.
Grants to these organizations extend the reach and impact of RMHC Wichita. The organizations must be designated as not-for-profit and tax-exempt as defined under IRS Code. The Grant cycle is January 1 - March 31, 2020.
Only funds raised through promotions in McDonald’s restaurants by Kansas McDonald’s
