Welcome to the Thanksgiving week edition of “Tech Current,” which provides news and updates on Wisconsin’s tech-based economy. We’re thankful for all of those who help the Tech Council put on major events such as the Wisconsin Early Stage Symposium, as well as those who will share their expertise in upcoming Innovation Network meetings in Madison, Milwaukee and Appleton. We’re also pleased to announce the creation of the Wisconsin Healthcare Business Forum, in partnership with the Wisconsin Hospital Association, which will build on our work to connect young companies with healthcare providers. Wisconsin Healthcare Business Forum aims to connect businesses with health providers
Telling the story of how healthcare quality can help build and retain a strong workforce while better connecting young tech-based businesses with the state's leading healthcare providers are among the missions of the Wisconsin Healthcare Business Forum.
The creation of the Healthcare Business Forum was announced Nov. 20 by Eric Borgerding, president and chief executive officer of the Wisconsin Hospital Association, and Tom Still, president of the Wisconsin Technology Council.

UW-Milwaukee’s Connected Systems Institute topic at Dec. 6 Tech Council event in Wauwatosa
The transition to “Industry 4.0” in manufacturing and related businesses will be discussed by industry and academic experts. The product of support from industry partners and the university, UW-Milwaukee’s multi-disciplinary Connected Systems Institute will focus on the industrial internet of things. More than 3,000 homegrown, academic discoveries are available for licensing by industries in Wisconsin – and it’s not that hard to shop for what you need.
