Jerry Cooper was appointed AdvancED Kentucky's Associate State Director in July. In making the appointment, Dr. Mark Elgart, President and CEO of AdvancED, noted Jerry’s extensive service as a volunteer and leader in AdvancED and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI) during the last 30 years. Jerry served as the Chairperson of the SACS CASI/Kentucky State Council for two terms, and he also chaired the 2005 SACS CASI Elementary Standards Review Committee. During the last five years, he has served as an AdvancED Field Consultant, District Lead Evaluator, and AdvancED Professional Learning Trainer.

Prior to joining AdvancED, Jerry worked as a teacher, guidance counselor, professional staff assistant and elementary principal in Fayette County Schools in Lexington. He earned his undergraduate degree in Special Education from Morehead State University, master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling and Rank I in School Leadership from Eastern Kentucky University.  Please assist us in welcoming Jerry to the team.
